NBA DFS PICK #1: Luka Doncic $12,400 FanDuel $11,300 DraftKings
It seems Luka Doncic in his second year is arguably the best player in the NBA. He’s been phenomenal in every aspect of the game, averaging a triple-double with 32.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists this season. He’s attempting 20 shots, nine from three while shooting at a 48.3 clip. Doncic is Dallas’ top play-maker and scorer, plain and simple, as evidenced by his 35.0 usage percentage and 50.3 assist percentage.
The Mavericks will head to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans 25th-ranked defense that is allowing 118.8 points per game but are also top-five in pace. This game has an over/under of 233, which bodes well for Doncic 69.9 FP ceiling and 57.2 FPPG he is averaging . In 15 games in November, Doncic hasn’t scored under 39 fantasy points. He is a cash game lock and in play in all NBA DFS formats.
*Honorable Mention: Fred Vanvleet $8,200 FanDuel $7,500 DraftKings
*Honorable Mention: Josh Hart $4,700 FanDuel $5,300 DraftKings
NBA DFS PICK #2: James Harden $12,000 FanDuel $12,500 DraftKings
James Harden hasn’t scored fewer than 46 fantasy points in his last 13 games. He is unguardable and is blazing a path through any defense he faces, putting up historical numbers along the way. When making NBA DFS lineups, Harden is one of the few guys you know will pay off his price no matter what. He leads the NBA in the following:
- Points per game
- Field goal attempted
- Three-point field goals
- Three-point attempts
- Free throws made
- Free throws attempted
- Total points scored
- Usage percentage
Harden’s numbers are video game-esque, as he is averaging 38.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 7.8 assists and shooting 44.6 from the field with a player efficiency rating of 36.9. For NBA DFS, his floor is as safe as it comes at 47.8 and his ceiling is an outlandish 88.2. Houston will head to San Antonio to host the Spurs 27th-ranked defense that is allowing 115.1 points per game to opposing offenses. San Antonio is also middle of the road in pace, which sets up well for Harden and Houston’s top- five pace. Fade at your own risk!
*Honorable Mentions: Will Barton $6,900 FanDuel $6,100 DraftKings
*Honorable Mentions: Khem Birch $5,600 FanDuel $4,700 DraftKings
NBA DFS PICK #3: Carmelo Anthony $6,000 FanDuel $6,300 DraftKings
Carmelo Anthony’s reemergence in Portland has been solid so far and I will continue to roster him at his price point. Anthony is averaging 17.7 points per game, six rebounds and two assists in his brief stint this year. He’s attempting 15 shots per game at a relatively high efficiency with an effective field goal percentage of 51.6. Anthony also has the third-highest usage percentage on the team at 25.2, which is strong considering the ball-dominant guards around him on Portland.
The Trailblazers will head to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers’ 10th-ranked defense, which will be no small task. That said, I like the fact that the masses will think the same, and Anthony’s ownership should make him a solid play with upside in a 229 over/under game.
*Honorable Mentions: Rui Hachimura $5,400 FanDuel $5,200 DraftKings
*Honorable Mentions: Bam Adebayo $7,900 FanDuel $7,400 DraftKings
