NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel 2/10

Thursday night delivers a seven-game slate. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: Gary Trent Jr.: $6,500 DraftKings/$6,600 FanDuel

Fred VanVleet (groin) will sit out tonight, making Trent Jr. an outstanding target. In the last two tilts VanVleet has missed, Trent Jr. has moved over to point guard and provided 41 DraftKings points in 35.5 minutes per game. Take VanVleet off the court this season and Trent Jr.’s usage jumps 5.4 percentage points to 26.9%, resulting in one DraftKings PPM in a sample size of 340 minutes.

Trent Jr. could not ask for a better matchup. The Raptors will be visiting the Rockets, who rank dead last in defensive efficiency and third in pace. Even with VanVleet absent, Toronto’s implied team total ranks third on the slate at 115 points and this contest’s total of 225 points is also the third-highest of the night. Trent Jr. is a strong bet for over 40 fantasy points tonight and is a value that cannot be ignored.

Boom: Devin Booker: $8,900 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel

Tonight, the best game environment of this seven-game slate is hands down the NBA Finals rematch between the Suns and Bucks. Both these clubs rank inside the top-11 in pace this season and by nearly 10 points, this contest presents the highest total on the board with 233 points. Furthermore, no team competing tonight carries a larger implied team total than Phoenix with 118 points and this tilt is expected to stay competitive throughout, with the Suns only favored by three points.

Booker is coming off a strong 48 DraftKings points showing against a stout Sixers’ defense on Tuesday and is contributing 45.5 DraftKings PPG across his last 10 starts. For the season, Booker is leading the Suns with a 32% usage rate and 1.22 DraftKings PPM. Plus, in the 20 contests he has suited up for where Phoenix has seen an implied team total of at least 115 points this season, he has produced 45 DraftKings PPG. With a top-10 Boom score for both DraftKings and FanDuel, Booker is the best way to gain exposure to this anticipated tilt.

Boom: Spencer Dinwiddie: $6,000 DraftKings/$5,700 FanDuel

This is a great time to buy low on Dinwiddie. With the Wizards getting blown out in back-to-back games, his numbers have suffered, bringing Dinwiddie’s salaries down to very reasonable levels, just in time for this get right matchup against the depleted Nets. While Kyrie Irving will suit up, Kevin Durant (knee), James Harden (hamstring) and LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) have been ruled out. With these players inactive for the last three contests, Brooklyn has ranked dead in defensive rating. The Wizards carry a healthy implied team total of 110.25 points and this tilt’s total is the fourth highest on the slate (217.5 points). More importantly, Bradley Beal (wrist) will remain sidelined for Washington. Before these past two blowouts, Dinwiddie was averaging 44.2 DraftKings points in 34 minutes per game in his first 11 starts of the season with Beal out. Overall, Dinwiddie scores 1.12 DraftKings PPM with Beal off the court, thanks to his usage and assist rates rising 4.2 and 8.4 percentage points, respectively.

Update: Dinwddie has been traded to the Mavericks. Aaron Holiday was also dealt traded to the Suns, leaving Raul Neto as the Wizards’ starting point guard for tonight. With his team severely lacking ball handlers, Neto should play a huge role and has to be considered at his near minimum price tags against this Nets’ defense that ranks dead last in rating over their last 10 games. Neto is scoring 0.7 DraftKings points per minute this season and Awesemo is projecting the veteran for 30 minutes. Neto is amassing 22 DraftKings points per game in the last 10 he has logged at least 25 minutes and owns a top-five Boom score on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.

Boom: Kelly Olynyk: $3,700 DraftKings/$3,700 FanDuel

44% DraftKings Boom/46% FanDuel Boom

With Trey Lyles traded to the Kings, Olynyk should handle a large role off the bench tonight for the Pistons. In the 149 minutes he has played with Lyles off the floor this season, Olynyk has supplied a strong 1.34 DraftKings PPM, thanks to a team-high 27.7% usage rate. This is a 5.4 percentage point increase from his average for the season. Olynyk should receive 20 to 25 minutes tonight in a very fast-paced setting against the Grizzlies. Both Memphis and Detroit rank inside the top-10 in pace, resulting in this matchup carrying the second-highest total on the slate at 224.5 points.

Olynyk has been very productive with 32.3 DraftKings PPG in the eight contests he has logged a minimum of 20 minutes this season and is rating as the No.1 value on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel in Awesemo’s projections.
