Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks Today

Boom: Tre Jones: $4,000 DraftKings/$3,700 FanDuel

65% DraftKings Boom/73% FanDuel Boom

With Dejounte Murray (illness) ruled out, Jones is a free square for all formats. In the past eight games Murray has missed, Jones has started at point for the Spurs and produced 33 DraftKings points in 33 minutes per game. Derrick White is also now with the Celtics and in the 699 minutes Jones has played with White and Murray off the court this season, the guard has supplied one DraftKings points per minute, mostly attributed to a team-high 30.6% assist rate. Only one game back of the Pelicans for the No. 9 seed in the West, the Spurs still have plenty to play for tonight when they visit the Nuggets. This game’s total is the fourth highest of this 12-game slate at 234 points and Jones’ prop line is set at 11.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds on BetMGM.

Before defensive stats and bonuses are credited, this is already 26.5 fantasy points, which is well over five-times value for Jones at his current price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel. In Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool, Jones boasts the highest boom score on the slate by a significant gap over every player competing tonight. Do not overthink this one and lock Jones in every lineup you build Tuesday.

Boom: Brandon Ingram: $8,000 DraftKings/$8,600 FanDuel

36% DraftKings Boom/25% FanDuel Boom

As noted above, the Pelicans hold a one-game lead over the Spurs for the No. 9 seed in the West. If they want to maintain that position, which would give them homecourt for the first play-in game over the No. 10 seed, they need to finish strong with only four games remaining, especially with San Antonio holding the tiebreaker between the two teams. New Orleans should put their best foot forward tonight, and Ingram is vastly underpriced for no longer being under a minutes restriction. After being limited in his first two starts following a lengthy absence due to a hamstring injury, he has seen at least 34 minutes in back-to-back games.

Ingram is generating 42 DraftKings points per game for the last 20 occasions he has cracked the 30-minute mark and is leading the Pelicans with a 30% usage rate this season. On tap for tonight is a juicy matchup against the Kings, who rank 27th in defensive efficiency and seventh in pace. New Orleans’ implied team total ranks eighth on the slate at 116 points, and this game’s total is up to a solid 225.5 points. Ingram is contributing 42.5 DraftKings points per game for the 16 times he has competed in a total of at least 225 points this season and is averaging 43.1 DraftKings points per game against Sacramento in two meetings. At only $8,000 on DraftKings, Ingram is standing out as one of the best forward values available Tuesday. At this affordable salary, Ingram has a top-five boom score on the slate in Awesemo’s NBA DFS Boom Bust Tool.

Boom: Andre Drummond: $6,800 DraftKings/$6,700 FanDuel

13% DraftKings Boom/18% FanDuel Boom

Everyone knows the drill; the Rockets are in action tonight, making the opposing starting center a priority for GPPs. On top of ranking second to last in defensive efficiency and second in pace, no team in the NBA is giving up more points in the paint than Houston, which is the icing on the cake for an old-school big man like Drummond, who strictly operates inside. Since joining the Nets, a whopping 96% of Drummond’s field goal attempts have come in the paint. He is averaging a strong 1.3 DraftKings points per minute this season and has been excellent as of late, scoring 40 DraftKings points per game across his last 10 starts and recording seven double-doubles.

In this dream spot, the Nets carry an absurd implied team total of 131 points. Not only is this easily the highest implied team total on the board tonight, but this is also the largest implied team total the NBA has seen in over two years. Drummond has 50 fantasy point upside in this incredible situation and is expected to come with less than 1% ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel according to Awesemo’s NBA daily fantasy projections, which is mouthwatering from a GPP perspective.

Boom: Aleksej Pokusevski: $6,700 DraftKings/$6,100 FanDuel

38% DraftKings Boom/47% FanDuel Boom

Pokusevski is one of the best values on the board tonight with the Thunder extremely shorthanded. For the fifth straight game, they are expected to only have nine healthy players available. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle), Josh Giddey (hip), Luguentz Dort (shoulder) and Darius Bazley (knee) will all remain sidelined. In this exact situation Sunday, Pokusevski started and delivered the first triple-double of his career in the surprise upset over the Suns, resulting in 54.5 DraftKings points in 35.5 minutes. He should continue to receive huge minutes tonight against the Trail Blazers and while another triple-double cannot be expected, Pokusevski should effortlessly outproduce his current price tags.

With those four players listed above off the floor this season, Pokusevski is scoring 1.1 DraftKings points per minute, behind a 22.8% usage rate and a 22.5% assist percentage in a sample of 388 minutes. Similar to Oklahoma City, Portland is running out a skeleton staff tonight with only four games remaining. For the season, they rank dead last in defensive efficiency. Pokusevski is providing 37 DraftKings points per game in the eight games he has logged over 30 minutes this season and is rating as a top-10 value on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel in Awesemo’s NBA Daily Fantasy projections.
