On tap for the second night of the 2021 NBA season is a full 11-game slate. With so many teams in action, NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will give you breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight

Boom: Tyrese Maxey vs. Pelicans: $4,000 DraftKings/$4,600 FanDuel

55.9% DraftKings Boom/39.1% FanDuel Boom

Maxey is a free square tonight on both DraftKings and FanDuel. With both Ben Simmons (suspension) and Shake Milton (ankle) out, Maxey is expected to start at point for the 76ers. Simmons and Milton missed four games together last season, and Maxey generated 28.6 DraftKings points per game with them absent. When both Simmons and Milton have been off the court, Maxey has handled a 27.9% usage rate and averaged 1.03 DraftKings points per minute. He flashed excellent upside during his rookie season, with six games over 30 DraftKings points. And on top of the expanded role, this is a beautiful matchup for Maxey against the Pelicans.

A year ago New Orleans ranked ninth in pace and 23rd in defensive rating. In this spot the 76ers have the fifth-highest implied team total on the slate (114.25 points), and this game’s total is the third highest on the board (224.5). Maxey brings outstanding upside at a low cost and has a top-three boom rating for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: Precious Achiuwa vs. Wizards: $3,100 DraftKings/$5,000 FanDuel

60.4% DraftKings Boom/16.3% FanDuel Boom

With Pascal Siakam (shoulder) sidelined, Achiuwa finds himself in significant role tonight. He, Khem Birch and Chris Boucher are the only big men the Raptors have available, and Awesemo’s projections have Achiuwa slated for 26.3 minutes. Last season Achiuwa averaged 0.93 DraftKings points per minute and averaged 28.2 DraftKings points per minute when he logged a minimum of 20 minutes as a member of the Heat. Additionally, this is an excellent matchup for Achiuwa, facing a Wizards team that ranked first in pace and 20th in defensive rating last season.

This Atlantic matchup’s total is at 221 points, and the Raptors present a healthy implied team total of 111.75 points. Achiuwa’s price tag on FanDuel is close to correct, but on DraftKings he is an elite value with his near-minimum $3,100 salary. Achiuwa is Awesemo’s No. 1 DraftKings value on the slate.

Boom: Christian Wood vs. Timberwolves: $8,000 DraftKings/$8,200 FanDuel

42.8% DraftKings Boom/28.7% FanDuel Boom

Awesemo’s projections love Wood tonight, and it is for good reason. After an injury-riddled campaign last year, Wood is back to full strength and opens the 2021 season in a terrific spot against the Timberwolves. This game’s total is the second highest on the slate (229.5), and the Rockets have an implied team total of 111.5 points. Minnesota ranked third-to-last in defensive rating and fifth in pace last season, and Wood exposed them for a season-high 57.5 DraftKings points back in April. He averaged 40 DraftKings points per game when competing in totals of at least 225 points a year ago, and Wood is the strongest value above $8,000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight.

Boom: Spencer Dinwiddie vs. Raptors: $4,900 DraftKings/$6,500 FanDuel

59% DraftKings Boom/19.2% FanDuel Boom

After inking a three-year, $60 million deal this summer, Dinwiddie will make his Wizards debut tonight and is extremely underpriced on DraftKings. As Washington’s new starting point guard, he averaged a 22.7% usage rate during the preseason, and for his career, Dinwiddie averages 0.96 DraftKings points per minute. With Kyle Lowry now in Miami and Siakam injured, the Raptors should be a vulnerable defense tonight, and this game is totaled at 221 points.

For his career, Dinwiddie has averaged 28 DraftKings in totals north of 210 points. Furthermore, his points/assists/rebounds prop is set at over/under 28.5 on BetMGM. Dinwiddie’s DraftKings salary got all the way up to $8,700 during his time with the Nets, and his $4,900 price tag for this evening makes him one of the strongest targets of the night. Via Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool, Dinwiddie has the second-highest boom rating for DraftKings.
