Russell Westbrook looks like a pretty good NBA DFS play according to the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool. While this should seem like common sense and projections love him, neither FanDuel nor DraftKings have priced him up enough. Bradley Beal is out for at least the next two games, which puts Westbrook in the spotlight once again for tonight’s NBA fantasy basketball slate. Using Awesemo’s expert NBA fantasy projections, let’s get into some of the best NBA DFS advice and picks for tonight.
DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | May 10
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Russell Westbrook vs. Hawks: $11,000 DraftKings/$12,400 FanDuel
42.4% DraftKings Boom/24% FanDuel Boom
What is there left to say? Westbrook is crushing every slate and isn’t close to getting priced appropriately on DraftKings. Oddly, his price didn’t even go up with the news that Beal is out with a hamstring injury. The Wizards are fighting for a playoff spot, so Westbrook could play around 40 minutes in this spot. Without Beal on the court, it’s going to take something very weird for him to fail at his DraftKings’ price. FanDuel becomes a bit more debatable with his salary more expensive. But even so, Westbrook has the best boom score of anybody on FanDuel priced over the $10,000 mark. He’s clearly the guy to pay up for, as the Awesemo NBA DFS projections have him as the best value play on the slate, even with his salary at $12,4000.
Jaren Jackson Jr. vs. Pelicans: $6,000 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel
25.6% DraftKings Boom/45.1% FanDuel Boom
Jackson is finally starting for Memphis again. On Saturday, he started against the Raptors and played a season-high 26 minutes in a win. It should come as no surprise that this also led to a nice stat line and 36.5 DraftKings points, his best mark of the season. With that start under his belt and the Grizzlies trying to qualify for the playoffs, Jackson should get another start and even more minutes tonight. He is scoring well over a fantasy point per minute this season, so his salary is much too cheap. Jackson averaged over 30 fantasy points per game last season in just 28 minutes per game. He could approach close to 30 minutes given how his playing time is trending.

Trae Young vs. Wizards: $9,300 DraftKings/$8,400 FanDuel
15.7% DraftKings Boom/32.6% FanDuel Boom
Even though Beal isn’t a good individual defender, the Wizards’ guard defense could get worse with him off the court for the next couple of games. This is because of the amount of energy that Westbrook will have to expend on offense. It is hard to believe he will have the energy to chase around Young on defense while playing 40 minutes with a massive usage rate. The total for this game is 236.5, so it’s almost certain to feature a ton of scoring. Quietly, Young’s usage has increased down the stretch of the season. As the Hawks fight to win their division, Young has a 34.1% usage rate over the last month, and is prjected for just under 47 points in Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections.
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Domantas Sabonis vs. Cavaliers: $10,600 DraftKings/$10,700 FanDuel
59.4% DraftKings Bust/50.4% FanDuel Bust
Sabonis is clearly a risky player to come underweight to the field on given how well he’s performing from a fantasy standpoint lately. He is coming off his eighth triple-double of the season in a losing effort to the Wizards. With that said, there are some concerns about him from an NBA DFS standpoint. This is a peak price for Sabonis on FanDuel and DraftKings, while Malcolm Brogdon could also be back in action. He is questionable to play after the missing the last couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. If he returns, Sabonis and Caris LeVert will take a slight hit on offense.
