NBA Fantasy Projections & Lineup Optimizer Picks Tonight

Boom: Ja Morant: $8,800 DraftKings/$8,600 FanDuel

31.3% DraftKings Boom/34% FanDuel Boom

On Monday Morant had his best showing since returning to the lineup after missing 12 straight games with a sprained knee, recording 48.5 DraftKings points across 33.4 minutes in the win over the Suns. Now he gets a beautiful matchup against the Lakers, who lead the league in pace and are playing their second game in two nights. The Grizzlies’ implied team total is the fourth highest on the slate (116.25 points), and this game’s total is third highest of the night (226.5 points). Additionally, Memphis will be missing many players due to health protocols, most notably Dillon Brooks. In the 594 minutes Morant has played with Brooks off the floor this season, he has led the Grizzlies with a 34.3% usage rate and produced 1.4 DraftKings points per minute.

Morant brings a ceiling over 50 fantasy points tonight according to Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and is one of the best high spends on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: Nassir Little: $5,000 DraftKings/$6,500

47.2% DraftKings Boom/18.9% FanDuel Boom

With C.J. McCollum out with a lung injury and Jusuf Nurkic, Robert Covington and Cody Zeller inactive due to health protocols Monday, Little started and finished with a career-high 48 DraftKings points in 33.6 minutes against the Mavericks. None of those players will return Wednesday against the Jazz, and in the 91 minutes Little has played with those four off the court this season, his usage has risen 4.1 percentage points and he has supplied 1.12 DraftKings points per minute. Awesemo is projecting Little for 35.4 minutes of action tonight, and while the Jazz are a top-10 defense in the league, they have been playing at a much faster pace as of late, ranking second in pace for the month of December. As a result, this game’s total is the highest on the slate (228.5 points) and the Trail Blazers’ implied team total is 110.75 points.

Little has a career average of 30 DraftKings points per game when he has logged a minimum of 25 minutes, and at a very affordable $5,000 on DraftKings, he is a top-five value on the slate according to Awesemo’s projections.

Boom: Cam Reddish: $6,200 DraftKings/$5,400 FanDuel

23.8% DraftKings Boom/38.7% FanDuel Boom

While the Hawks got Trae Young back Monday, they remained extremely depleted, and Reddish seized the opportunity and posted 44 DraftKings points in a whopping 40 minutes of work against the Bulls. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the team in minutes with 41.5 in this game but has now been ruled out for Wednesday’s rematch with the Bulls due to health protocols. In total, 13 players for the Hawks will be inactive due to health protocols tonight, including John Collins, Kevin Huerter and Danilo Gallinari. In the 80 minutes Reddish has played without these five players since the start of last season, he has a 32% usage rate and 1.2 DraftKings points per minute.

Barring a blowout, Reddish should receive around 40 minutes tonight with his team so shorthanded and is far too cheap for his upside, especially at only $5,400 on FanDuel. At this salary, Reddish is rating as a top-10 value according to Awesemo’s projections.

Boom: JaVale McGee: $5,100 DraftKings/$5,200 FanDuel

65% DraftKings Boom/63.3% FanDuel Boom

McGee was a disappointment Monday due to foul trouble, with only 15 DraftKings points against the Grizzlies. However, the Suns will remain without Deandre Ayton (health protocols) and Frank Kaminsky (knee), and prior to Monday McGee was averaging 40 DraftKings points in 25.7 minutes per game with those two centers out of the lineup this season. McGee leads the Suns in DraftKings points per minute with an elite 1.4 this season, and this is a plus spot for him, with the Thunder giving up the third-most rebounds in the league.

Furthermore, the Suns’ implied team ranks third on the slate (116.5 points), and McGee’s props sit at 13.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists on BetMGM. Including the DraftKings bonus for a double-double, this is already 29.75 DraftKings points before defensive stats are credited. In Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool McGee has a top-three boom score on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel, making him a sharp target for all formats.
