This really has nothing to do with NBA DFS lineups, but it was fun to see Madison Square Garden rocking in the playoffs. Here’s to more scenes like that throughout these playoffs and the entire sports landscape. Now let’s get to work finding some NBA DFS picks and strategies to help take us to the top on DraftKings and FanDuel tonight.

So. Many. Superstars.
Tonight there is a third consecutive three-game NBA DFS slate with the first wave of Game 3’s, and it’s going to be yet another interesting night of prioritizing the six standout studs. DraftKings has been the focus a lot of late, so let’s focus on FanDuel for once:
The first thing that sticks out above is Damian Lillard‘s inflated salary. On the heels of back-to-back massive outings, he has seen his price tag increase from $9,700 in Game 1 to $10,100 in Game 2, all the way up to the $10,500 for Game 3. Something tells me that still won’t affect his ownership, however, as Jrue Holiday saw an increase to his price as well ($8,500) and the rest of the point guard position is straight garbage.
The next observation is that small forward and power forward each have two stud spend-ups apiece. Considering the lack of value that exists, it’s hard not to prioritize the cheaper of the two at each position in an attempt to save salary to allocate elsewhere. Then again, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best fantasy player on the planet, averaging 1.63 FanDuel points per minute for the year. Plus, the Bucks are only 2-point favorites as they head down to Miami, and a close game only bolsters the case to prioritize him.
And of course, Nikola Jokic sits head and shoulders above the rest of his position. Considering he has put up 50-plus in both games of this series despite just 35 and 31 minutes of court time, there’s a crazy ceiling still waiting in the wings against Jusuf Nurkic and Enes Kanter defense. If forced to pick only one of the above superstars right now, it’s Jokic on FanDuel where there is only one center. However, if Awesemo’s ownership projections have any one of these six coming in under-owned, there is a strong case to make them the go-to option in tournaments.

Slate Bullet Points
There are so many different things to discuss next, so let’s skip a specific theme in the second segment tonight and get right into some overarching notes for this slate:
- It has been months of banging the drum for Bam Adebayo to get priced appropriately playing alongside Jimmy Butler, and it would seem he is almost there at $7,500 on DraftKings. $8,200 on FanDuel still isn’t it, but at least he’s going to be a playable piece on one site tonight.
- Cameron Payne was insane as soon as he touched the court in Game 2. It will be interesting to see where his ownership comes in off his 33 minutes and 40 fantasy points, but the guess is it will be too high despite the price hike across the industry. Be sure to check Awesemo’s Boom/Bust tool to double-check that statement, as he would be a contrarian spend-up worth getting to in the event Chris Paul is limited once again.
- LeBron James is bound for a massive game similar to the 60-spot he put up in the play-in tournament at least once in this series against the Suns. And now with only a $100 difference between him and teammate Anthony Davis on DraftKings, taking shots on him is little more palatable.
- Don’t forget about the “if/then” statements discussion from yesterday (here’s a refresher in case you need it). With such a scarce amount of value on this slate unless something unexpected happens, leaps of faith will be necessary to find value. In Game 2 of Bucks – Heat it was obviously Bryn Forbes and Dewayne Dedmon, but as to who it could be for this set of Game 3’s is anyone’s guess. So guess well, and make those guesses based in logical conclusions as to who could benefit from certain game scripts, poor shooting performances or foul trouble.
Final Thought for NBA DFS Lineups
- Just play Dennis Schroder.
