Awesemo has a ton of great tools and NFL DFS strategy to tackle all the largest contests for Week 10 in NFL DFS. This article will provide some first impressions of the upcoming slate, including some of the top matchups and value plays. It will discuss salaries and who sticks out at various tiers for Yahoo daily fantasy NFL picks this week.
Week 9 saw a couple of massive upsets, with the Titans taking out the Rams in prime time on the road and the Jaguars and Broncos grabbing big upset wins as double-digit underdogs. It is early in the week, so injury news on players like Aaron Rodgers, Chase Edmunds Nick Chubb and DeAndre Hopkins is very likely to affect the slate later in the week.
Yahoo Daily Fantasy: Week 10 NFL First Look & Value Plays
QB Tom Brady — $40
The Buccaneers return to action this week against the Washington Football Team, and there may be no better opponent in the league for Tom Brady and his pass-happy offense to take out their frustrations. Washington allows the sixth-most yards per pass attempt in the league and has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks by more than a 2-point margin. Despite that, Brady is trending for very low rostership projections on Awesemo, which could see him well under 5% rostered this week in Yahoo DFS contests. Think about him as a low-rostered stacking option for Week 10.
QB Matt Ryan — $25
Matt Ryan is another veteran quarterback who makes for an interesting target in Week 10. Ryan has played halfway decently this season and last week completed over 75% of his passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns against one of the best pass defenses in the league. Dallas has shown good things on defense this year too, but they are ninth-to-last in yards per pass attempt against this year. Teams throw 36.6 times per game against Dallas too, so Ryan could easily push for 40 pass attempts in a game where Atlanta is likely to start the game as 8- to 10-point underdogs.
RB Jonathan Taylor — $35
It took a few weeks for him to get going, but Jonathan Taylor has clearly ascended to the top of the running back charts for fantasy. Taylor leads the league in rushing (besides Derrick Henry) and is averaging a monstrous 5.9 yards per carry on the season. The Colts have finally figured that he is their best offensive player, as he has played on over 69% of the snaps over the last three games and has 19 or more touches each of those games as well. It is Jacksonville, so any metric is going to make this matchup look great. Taylor is the second-highest-ranked running back of the week in Awesemo’s projections, and his high price may even keep his rostership levels in Yahoo DFS contests somewhat muted.
RB D’Ernest Johnson– $21
The Browns running back saga continues to churn out new storylines for fantasy purposes, as D’Ernest Johnson seems very likely to once again be in line for a prime role in Week 10 with the news that Nick Chubb is on the COVID-19 list. Johnson went for 168 all-purpose yards in Week 7 when he got the start without Kareem Hunt or Chubb active, and he should be in line for a similar role if Chubb cannot get cleared in time. He is obviously mispriced at just $13 and projects as the best price-to-dollar play for Week 10. The situation needs monitoring, but Johnson figures to be one of the most popular plays of the week if he gets the backfield all to himself for another week.
WR Stefon Diggs — $24
The Bills have a 30.25 implied team total, and their offense should not lay an egg two weeks in a row in a similar spot. The Jets have been terrible on the defensive side of the ball, and nobody has been worse over the last three games at limiting big plays in the secondary, as they have allowed 9 yards per pass attempt against over that span. Diggs has seen yet another price drop after he was $27 in on Yahoo last week, and yet he has the second-highest points projection on this slate at wide receiver in the Awesemo projections. He has to be on the early list of targets in Week 10.

WR Diontae Johnson — $23
Diontae Johnson is a another high-volume receiver who looks like he could be in a great spot for Week 10. Johnson continues to lead the Steelers in targets, and his 25.6% team target share ranks 10th best in the league. Much like Diggs’ opponent, the Lions pass defense has been terrible all season and ranks last in yards per pass attempt allowed. They have drifted to third worst in sacks per game as well. Johnson’s safe floor comes with immense upside this week against one of the league’s worst secondaries.
TE Dalton Schultz– $17
Dalton Schultz has been one of the biggest surprises at the tight end position this year. He has received at least five targets in every game in 2021 and is third on the team in targets and not too far behind both of Dallas’ elite wide receivers. The Cowboys have a massive 31.5 implied team total, and yet Schultz is trending well below 10% rostership early in the week. If he keeps on that track, he will make for a great target in large-field tournaments given the solid matchup and target share he brings to the table.
TE Dan Arnold — $14
Speaking of target share, Dan Arnold has quietly crept into a situation that is very similar to Schultz’s. He has averaged 7.5 targets over his first four games as a Jaguar and faces a Colts team that does not defend the tight end position well. Indianapolis has allowed the second-most receptions to the position this year and is a bottom-tier pass defense. Jacksonville has thrown the ball 41 times per game over the least three weeks (fourth most in the league), and Arnold has a great matchup. He is available for Week 10 at a great price on Yahoo.
Awesemo’s Matt Gajewski also found Dan Arnold to be one of the top options upon first look, which he wrote about in his Week 10 NFL DFS First Look for DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
