The Millionaire Maker Preview for the Charles Schwab Challenge are words I certainly never thought I’d write. We are in unprecedented times to be certain. Winning the Milly Maker is the pinnacle of DFS and, more specifically, the pinnacle of PGA DFS. Creating the winning lineup versus 100,000-plus entries is extremely hard to do, and you basically have to get almost everything right.
Besides picking the right six golfers, there are a couple of trends that we can analyze to try and help us find the winning combination. So, in this article, I’m going to go over the last seven Millionaire Maker tournaments, giving the lineup, total ownership, points, OWGR and salary. From there, I’ll provide some commentary and try to point out any trends I see.

Winning Lineups
Commentary
Out of the last seven contests, Brooks Koepka ($9,700) has been in six of them. If you aren’t already aware, I’m one of the biggest Koepka adversaries out there. Now, that doesn’t mean I hate Koepka as a person. I just don’t like rooting for him, that’s all. In golf, you have to root for someone to win. Imagine the frustration when I have to see his name on the winning lineup almost every time. Tony Finau ($8,700) has put together an impressive display as well, not as much has Koepka, but he’s been in five of seven lineups and hasn’t won an event. Only three golfers other than them have been in a lineup multiple times: Patrick Cantlay (Not playing this week), Xander Schauffele ($9,600) and Gary Woodland ($8,800).
Only four golfers over the last seven contests have been ranked outside of the top 100 in the world at the time of the event. Granted, these are majors, and almost all of the top-100 golfers in the world compete in them, leaving little room for golfers that are ranked lower.
PGA DFS Millionaire Maker Stats
Quick Facts
- Typically, DraftKings will price at least two golfers, if not three, above $11,000. Only twice out of seven contests did the winning lineup have a golfer priced over $11,000.
- Only the crazy U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in 2018 had one golfer inside the top-10 OWGR, while all the others had at least two.
- When we turn to ownership, every lineup had at least one golfer that was owned less than 10%, while most had at least two and most also had at least one golfer less than 5% owned.
- The median average for ownership over the lineups is 75%. A couple got over 100% total ownership, and both of those contests were split at least one way for first place.
- Oddly enough, the only lineup that didn’t have the winner of the tournament was the 2019 Masters. Tiger Woods was not in the lineup.
