Clyde Edwards-Helaire Gets 14 Carries In Week 13

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire played the lead role in his second game back from a knee injury during a Week 13 victory versus the Denver Broncos. CEH recorded 54 yards on 14 rushing attempts with three receptions for 28 yards. It wasn't the best performance for the sophomore runner, but it was a solid performance nonetheless. Backup running back Darrel Williams saw his fair share of action on Sunday evening and was on the field for all third-down plays. Edwards-Helaire should see his role grow down the stretch run, but managers would be wise to insure him with Williams. Next up will be a matchup versus the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14 and CEH should be considered a RB2 with RB1 upside in that contest.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Officially Active

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) is officially active ahead of the AFC West bout against Denver. CEH had been dealing with a non-COVID-related sickness, but it appears as if he's good to go, although there is a chance he may be limited if this one gets out of hand. However, fantasy managers have no choice but to start him, though his DFS outlook isn't as bright.

Dec 5th · 02:51 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Won't Be Limited In Week 13

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) is anticipated to see a full workload versus Denver on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 22-year-old had been battling the stomach flu throughout the week, so naturally, fantasy managers had questions regarding his projected workload for the AFC West matchup. Nonetheless, CEH was already a must-start in seasonal formats before the latest update. However, he should now at least be in the running for DFS consideration, despite the effectiveness of the Broncos defense at keeping opposing rushers in check throughout the year.

Dec 5th · 01:14 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Expected To Suit Up For SNF

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) is expected to play against the Broncos on Sunday despite being listed as questionable, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The 22-year-old returned from injury in Week 11 and had a strong performance, rushing 12 times for 63 yards and a touchdown while also hauling in both of his targets for an additional 13 yards through the air. He remains a mid-range RB2 option heading into a primetime clash with Denver, though backup Darrel Williams has some low-end RB3 relevance, too.

Dec 3rd · 07:25 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Should Be Fine For Sunday Night

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (flu) missed practice on Friday with the stomach flu, but he's expected to be fine to play on Sunday night against the division-rival Denver Broncos. Edwards-Helaire returned from a long injury layoff in Week 11 to carry the ball 12 times for 63 yards and his first rushing touchdown of the season against the Dallas Cowboys, adding two catches for 13 yards. Coming off the team's bye week, his legs should be well-rested, but he'll have a tough task against a Broncos defense that has been trending up in the second half of the season. But as long as the second-year running back isn't under the weather on Sunday night, he should see enough volume in a Chiefs offense that has also been trending up in recent weeks. Consider CEH a fine RB2 choice in Week 13.

Dec 3rd · 04:10 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

After missing five weeks with a knee injury, Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire put together a nice performance in Week 11 versus the Dallas Cowboys with 63 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He also picked up 12 yards on a pair of catches. With a bye in Week 12 and time to freshen up, Edwards-Helaire will look to pick up where he left off in a Week 13 matchup versus a very tough Denver Broncos run defense. The sophomore running back should be set for a full workload, but it won't be easy against a Broncos frontline that has is allowing just under 88 yards per game to opposing runners. They have also gone four straight games without allowing a rushing touchdown to a running back and have allowed over 100 yards just three times this season. Despite the tough matchup, CEH provides enough volume in a potent offense that managers should feel confident about suiting him up as a RB2 in all formats. Even though CEH made it through Week 11 healthy and had Week 12 to rest, managers would still be wise to insure him with Darrel Williams down the stretch.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Scores In Return

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) finished with 12 carries for 63 yards during the Week 11 defeat of the Cowboys. Making his first appearance since sustaining a knee injury in Week 5, the 22-year-old also scored a touchdown, finding the end zone off a one-yard run in the second quarter. He did only catch two passes for 13 yards, but overall, it was still a decent showing from a guy who hasn't played in quite some time. Darrel Williams was also involved on Sunday. However, after the team returns from its bye, CEH could gain a bigger piece of the workload against the Broncos in Week 13.

Nov 20th · 08:32 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Rejoins Active Roster For Sunday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) has been activated from injured reserve and is set to serve as the team's lead back for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, per Ed Werder of ESPN. Edwards-Helaire has been down since sustaining a sprained MCL in Week 5, leaving Darrell Williams to primarily serve as Kansas City's top back. Williams is still expected to see a role in the Chiefs' offense, making the duo difficult to trust from a fantasy outlook due to their uncertain carry split. When healthy, Edwards-Helaire boasts a better ceiling, having logged two games with 100 or more yards on the ground before being injured this year. With the matchup against Dallas expected to be high-scoring, aggressive fantasy managers could benefit from the 22-year-old being back in action.

Nov 17th · 09:14 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire To Rest Another Week?

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said "there's a chance we do that" when asked if the team could give running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) an extra week of recovery with the bye week approaching in Week 12. The Chiefs want to see how he does in practice this week before activating him from Injured Reserve. Darrel Williams' big performance in the win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10 is giving the Chiefs the luxury of being patient on Edwards-Helaire, who has been out since Week 5. With the 22-year-old out, Williams has maintained RB2 upside on a weekly basis, with Derrick Gore and Jerick McKinnon pitching in for change-of-pace work behind him. But once CEH returns as KC's primary backfield option, Williams will lose most of his fantasy value.

Nov 15th · 07:06 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Has Good Chance To Play In Week 11

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Monday that running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) has a good chance to come off Injured Reserve and play in the Week 11 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys. The 22-year-old second-year back returned to practice last week, but the Chiefs weren't quite ready to throw him out there in the Sunday night win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Darrel Williams didn't do much on the ground (11 carries for 43 yards), but he went off as a pass-catcher, grabbing all nine targets for 101 yards and a touchdown. CEH's return will push Williams back to a complementary role in a committee approach, making him more of an RB3/flex for fantasy managers. Edwards-Helaire has two TDs through the air in five games played in 2021, and has added 65 carries for 304 rushing yards.

Nov 14th · 02:50 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Officially Out On Sunday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's AFC West showdown against Vegas. Head coach Andy Reid had recently indicated it was "a stretch" that the 22-year-old would be good for Week 10, but the door was officially shut regarding his availability after the team didn't activate him before Saturday's 4 p.m. deadline. Nonetheless, without CEH, Darrel Williams, who has 201 yards and two touchdowns throughout four games as the starter, will get another crack as the lead option out of the backfield against the Raiders.

Nov 12th · 08:08 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Unlikely To Return This Weekend

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that "it's probably a stretch" for running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) to return from Injured Reserve and play in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night. Edwards-Helaire practiced all week and reportedly looked really good, but the Chiefs look to be leaning towards giving the 22-year-old one more week to recover. If you were planning to return CEH to your starting lineups this weekend, you'll have to go in another direction. The good news is we have some resolution on this before the Sunday night game. Darrel Williams will have at least one more week of RB2 utility against the Raiders, with Derrick Gore serving in a change-of-pace role behind him.

Nov 12th · 02:37 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

The Kansas City Chiefs have yet to announce if starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) will return for Week 10 versus the Las Vegas Raiders, but he has returned to practice and received encouraging reviews thus far. Edwards-Helaire has been sidelined since spraining his MCL in Week 5 and Darrel Williams has been filling in during his absence. With the Chiefs playing Sunday night, it could come down to wire on if CEH will suit up or not. Even if he does suit up, he could be looking at a pitch count in his first game back. Managers would be wise to consider other options for Week 10, even in a favorable matchup versus a Raiders defense that has struggled versus the run this year.

Nov 11th · 09:18 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Looking Good At Practice

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said that running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) "looked great" during Wednesday's practice. Edwards-Helaire didn't have an official injury designation because he remains on Injured Reserve, but this is a good sign that he will be activated later this week and return to the field in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night. It remains to be seen if CEH will be on a pitch count in terms of his snaps if he returns this weekend, but his return will obviously be bad news for both Darrel Williams and Derrick Gore. The 22-year-old second-year back had 65 carries for 304 yards and no touchdowns while adding eight receptions on 10 targets for 61 yards and two touchdowns through the air in five games before landing on IR.

Nov 10th · 08:00 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Back At Practice On Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) was designated to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday and was seen at practice with his teammates. This shouldn't be treated as a guarantee that he plays this week, so keep an eye on practice reports over the next few days. However, CEH's return is welcome news for a Chiefs offense that has been struggling this season. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes often seeing six or seven pass defenders on over 90% of early down snaps, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Chiefs try to establish the run a little bit more to open up the offense for the passing game. As a result, Darrel Williams should still be held in all leagues until we see how the Chiefs backfield snap share shakes out, but this looks like the end of Derrick Gore's fantasy relevance for 2021.

Nov 5th · 07:29 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Closer To A Return

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) is "closer" to a potential return from Injured Reserve. "We'll have to see how time handles it here in the next couple of weeks," Reid said. The 22-year-old second-year back may be close to a return, but it doesn't sound like it'll happen this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, as the team has yet to even open up his 21-day practice window. Edwards-Helaire needs to remain stashed in all fantasy formats, but his managers will need to continue to be patient. Darrel Williams has been the primary back in CEH's absence, but Derrick Gore came out of nowhere to handle 11 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 despite playing just 19% of the offensive snaps. Gore looked fresh and explosive and could be a thorn in Williams' side until Edwards-Helaire is able to return.

Nov 4th · 11:58 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Remains On Injured Reserve

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) is eligible to come off of injured reserve, but the team has not designated him to return yet. The sophomore running back is headed towards missing his fourth straight game in Week 9 and will once again be replaced by Darrel Williams. Williams remains the main man out of the Chiefs backfield, but Derrick Gore saw some run in Week 8 and could enter into the conversation for some carries in Week 9 versus the Green Bay Packers. For now, Williams is the running back to roster with CEH sidelined. Edwards-Helaire has been sidelined since spraining his MCL in Week 5 versus the Buffalo Bills and there is currently no timeline on when he will return to the lineup.

Oct 12th · 07:13 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Placed On Injured Reserve

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) has been placed on the injured reserve list and will miss a minimum of three weeks. The sophomore suffered the injury on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills but dodged a potentially serious injury as he has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL. In his absence, Darrel Williams will likely see the lion's share of touches in the backfield, and serve as the early-down and goal-line back. Jerick McKinnon will likely see an increased role as well, but he still doesn't have any starting lineup appeal for fantasy managers. Moving forward, Williams has the look of a solid FLEX option, while McKinnon can be stashed on benches.

Oct 11th · 06:22 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire To Miss A Few Weeks With MCL Sprain

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain. He is expected to miss a few weeks, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. This is good news for the Chiefs running back as the fear on Sunday night was that he could have sustained a more serious injury. He appeared to be in a great deal of pain after being tackled hard on a third quarter play. He was helped off the field by teammates and instantly ruled out. Darrel Williams and Jerick McKinnon will both see an increased workload over the next few weeks. Williams should be the higher priority for fantasy managers as he's seen 22 carries and 10 targets over the past three weeks. In Week 6, the Chiefs will face the Washington Football Team, who have allowed 114.4 rushing yards per game so far this year.

Oct 11th · 04:02 AM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Out For Remainder Of Week 5

Updating an earlier report, Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the Sunday Night Football battle against the Buffalo Bills. The 22-year-old needed to be carried off the field after injuring his left knee during a play. Team medical staff did allow him to walk back under his own power for X-rays, which was encouraging. However, fantasy managers will certainly hope for the best until a definitive update comes regarding his status moving forward. If CEH misses time, which is certainly logical to assume, Jerick McKinnon and Darrel Williams will both get plenty of attention as waiver wire options heading into the Week 6 matchup against the Washington Football Team.

Oct 11th · 03:41 AM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Carried Off The Field In Week 5

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (leg) exited the AFC Championship rematch against the Bills in Week 5. The 22-year-old appeared to have injured his left leg during a play, and with torrential rain making conditions less than desirable for the second half of Sunday Night Football, it was inevitable that something like this was bound to happen. Nonetheless, he was spotted limping back to the locker room, with an update on his status likely to come soon. Fantasy managers should classify him as questionable. However, with the game getting out of hand on the scoring end, it's possible his night is over. In the meantime, Darrel Williams and Jerick McKinnon will attempt to fill the void.

Oct 8th · 01:15 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Has Tough Matchup In Week 5

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is coming off of two straight 100-yard rushing performances, but that could end in Week 5 against a very tough Buffalo Bills defense. The Bills defense is only allowing 51 yards per game to opposing runners and around three receptions for 35 yards through the air. They have also not allowed a touchdown on the ground this season. CEH has yet to get over 17 carries in a game and Darrel Williams is the only running back that has touched the end zone this season for the Chiefs with two touchdowns. The sophomore runner will have to make the most of his opportunities on Sunday to show his value, but this may be a week that managers swap him out for a player with a better matchup. Edwards-Helaire should be considered a shaky RB2/flex in most formats for Sunday's tilt.

Oct 3rd · 08:40 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Has Another Big Game In Week 4

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire had his second straight game of 100 yards on the ground in a Week 4 victory versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Edwards-Helaire rushed 14 times for 102 yards and also caught two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown. More importantly, it was the first time in two games that CEH didn't record a fumble. The sophomore running back has stepped up over his last two games and continues to make the most of his opportunities. The Chiefs offense is always worth investing in, but managers need to remind themselves that the team prefers to pass and CEH has yet to get over 17 carries in a game this year. Now may be right time to shop him with a matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that has been stellar against the run this year and his value at an all-time high.

Oct 1st · 12:46 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Will Look To Build Off Of Success

Kansas City Chiefs running backClyde Edwards-Helaire will look to build off of a strong Week 3 performance with a matchup versus the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. CEH ran for a season-high 100 yards on 17 carries and also caught two balls for nine yards and a touchdown in a Week 3 loss versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The one downfall is that he fumbled for his second consecutive game. The Eagles defense has struggled against the run so far this season and have allowed 120 yards per game to opposing runners. In theory, Edwards-Helaire should be lined up for a favorable matchup, but the Chiefs offense is based around the passing game and CEH has failed to get more than 17 carries in a game this season. The bottom line is that he will need to make the most of his opportunities when touching the ball, and he should be considered an upside RB2 in Week 4.

Sep 26th · 09:12 PM
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Goes For 100 Yards In Week 3

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed the ball 17 times for 100 yards in a Week 3 loss versus the Los Angeles Chargers. He also chipped in with two receptions for nine yards and a touchdown. That was the good news, the bad news is that for a second straight week, CEH fumbled a ball on the ground. Despite the fumble in the second quarter, head coach Andy Reid decided to stick with his man and he was able to put together his best performance on the young season. Managers should note that backup running back Darrel Williams saw a season-high seven rush attempts in this contest, but shouldn't be worried about Edwards-Helaire being in the doghouse for the time being and should consider insuring CEH with Williams just to be safe. Moving forward, CEH will face a tough Philadelphia Eagles run defense in Week 4, but should be utilized as a RB2.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
