New England Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham (back) is officially back in the mix. The Pats activated Stidham on Tuesday, adding him to a QB room that already includes Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer. Stidham has appeared in eight games over the past two years with New England, combining to have completed 50 percent (24-for-48) of his passes to go along with two passing scores and four interceptions. Jones appears to have a stronghold on the starting gig for the foreseeable future, but the Patriots remain intrigued by the 25-year-old Stidham. There's no reason to assume anyone but Jones will earn a start under center for New England this year barring injury.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham (back) underwent surgery and will miss the rest of training camp. Stidham had back surgery and was given a three-month timetable. He'll miss the beginning of the regular season, but wasn't going to compete for a starting spot anyway. Veteran Cam Newton and rookie Mac Jones are battling for the starting quarterback job. Brian Hoyer will compete with Jake Dolegala for the No. 3 spot on the Patriots roster. Stidham won't be worth drafting in fantasy leagues and will almost certainly be the third string once he's healthy.
NBC Sports Boston's Tom E. Curran predicts that New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham will perform well enough in training camp with second-team repetitions to make the final 53-man roster. Cam Newton won't be in New England for the long haul, so Stidham represents an eventual backup to Mac Jones that has been in the system for three years. Stidham making the roster would likely be bad news for journeyman Brian Hoyer. The 24-year-old Stidham still has some upside, but at best, he'll enter the season as the No. 3 behind Newton and Jones, making him one to avoid in all redraft formats.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham took over for the ineffective Cam Newton during the third quarter. Unsurprisingly, Stidham did not look any better than Newton did during their Week 16 blowout loss. He completed four of 11 passing attempts for 44 yards in the loss to the Buffalo Bills. It's unclear which of the two quarterbacks will start versus the New York Jets next week. Regardless, neither is a long term solution for this team or a reliable fantasy option.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham saw a few reps during the blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14. It was a horrendous game by quarterback Cam Newton. He was benched with 10 minutes left in fourth quarter in favor of Stidham. He completed five of seven passing attempts for 27 yards and added one rushing attempt for three yards in garbage time. This move was basically just the Pats conceding the game and getting Newton out to avoid injury. There is no indication that Stidham is going to start next week and he wouldn't have much fantasy value even if he did suit up.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham saw some repetitions during the second half of the Week 7 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback Cam Newton was benched after a three-interception performance late in the game. Sadly, it didn't get much better once Stidham took over under center. He completed six of 10 passing attempts for 64 yards and one interception. Stidham looks awkward, uncomfortable and confused in the pocket. The Pats confirmed that Newton is the starter going forward. There's almost no reason to own Stidham in any single-season fantasy format.
New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has been removed from the game, and has been replaced by Jarrett Stidham. With the Patriots down 30-6, and Newton having a rough game including three interceptions and a 39.7 passer rating. Bill Belichick decided to bench Newton and make the switch. The San Francisco 49ers were dominating the Patriots all game, and Newton was not able to get the offense going. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few days.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham played the final quarter during the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He replaced Brian Hoyer who was horrendous up to that point, but Stidham didn't do much better. Stidham completed five of 13 passing attempts for 60 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. The Patriots don't have a reliable quarterback on the roster until Cam Newton returns. Both Stidham and Hoyer can be left on the waiver wire.
New England Patriots wide receiver N'Keal Harry is officially active for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. Harry should serve as the primary outside receiver for new quarterback Cam Newton, though the receiving corps in New England is hard to figure out right now, making Harry no more than a deep league option this week. Meanwhile, quarterback Jarrett Stidham is inactive, which means Brian Hoyer is going to be the primary backup. That could change going forward and it doesn't necessarily mean Hoyer would start if a Newton injury happens.
Updating a previous report, New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham (hip) is dealing with a hip injury that won't be 100 percent for a few weeks, but he's fighting to play through it at training camp. Stidham was taken to a local hospital on Thursday for precautionary tests on his hip that came back negative, but he had a much lighter workload on Friday at practice. His injury would explain why he threw an unusual amount of interceptions in practice in recent days. Stidham has been competing for the starting QB job with Cam Newton and Brian Hoyer, but this injury could hurt his chances. It's good news for Newton, but he'll need to demonstrate a better grasp of the offense. With a month until Week 1, Newton should still be considered the favorite to start against the Dolphins.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham (leg) has been battling leg discomfort and is not expected to practice much, if at all, on Friday, according to sources. The Patriots will play it cautious with Stidham. His leg injury may explain why he's had a rough few days of practice as he battles for playing time with Cam Newton and veteran Brian Hoyer. There has been some speculation that the Patriots might run with some sort of quarterback committee to begin the season, but Stidham's injury might ultimately pave the way for Newton to be the unquestioned starter come Week 1, despite the fact that Newton still doesn't have a very good grasp of the offense yet. Stidham, 24, would be just a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he's starting games in 2020 for the Pats.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham has been given a hard act to follow after legendary quarterback Tom Brady departed this offseason. Dante Scarnecchia believes the Pats are going to suffer through some growing pains with their young quarterback. "There's gonna be some growing pains, there's no doubt about it," said Scarnecchia. The fourth-round pick has seen little playing time in his career and limited opportunities to get caught up to speed due to COVID-19 concerns. Stidham is not going to step in there and be an elite quarterback like Brady. It is going to take time for him to feel comfortable as the starter. Stidham is expected to compete with Brian Hoyer for the starting quarterback job in camp. The Pats are fairly limited in terms of reliable options on offense. Stidham is going to be a tough player to trust in fantasy leagues, especially early in the season.
New England Patriots quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer are in a fierce competition with each other for the starting gig in the post-Tom Brady era, but the two have been working out together and have an important dynamic between each other while sacrificing to help each other. One of the reasons the Pats went back to Hoyer was because of his experience and top-shelf professionalism. Stidham is expected to win the job in training camp, but there's a big unknown with him in his second season in the NFL. The fourth-round pick was up-and-down in college and won't be asked to do too much if he's the guy for Bill Belichick in 2020. Because Stidham will be a low-upside game manager, he's not much of a fantasy option outside of deep two-QB setups.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham and a group of six teammates recently gathered at a private football field to work out together. Stidham has been the catalyst for the throwing sessions, according to sources. Veteran QB Brian Hoyer has been at the throwing sessions, as have been wide receivers Julian Edelman, Damiere Byrd and Gunner Olszewski. Stidham, a fourth-round pick last year, looks to be the team's starting solution in the post-Tom Brady era entering the 2020 season. Head coach Bill Belichick seems totally comfortable rolling with the unknown 23-year-old, and we wouldn't bet against Belichick. So if Stidham is indeed the starter under center in Week 1, he'll be a midrange QB2 for fantasy owners.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham is looked upon as the leading candidate to take over the starting job in 2020. The Pats decided to wait until after the 2020 NFL Draft to sign two undrafted quarterbacks. Veteran Brian Hoyer is back for his third stint with the team, but is expected to be the second string to start the season. New England has faith the Stidham has the potential and talent to be a reliable option. "Stid worked really hard last year,"head coach Bill Belichick told NFL Network. The organization plans to build a game plan around his talents. It doesn't sound like the Pats are ready to hand Stidham the keys to the castle, but they are definitely going to give him a fair chance to showcase his talent this season.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham is reportedly the favorite to be the starting quarterback this season, according to Mike Reiss. The organization continues to pass on more experienced quarterbacks in free agency. It appears that the Pats have faith in the former fourth round pick from 2019. Stidham is the third quarterback the team has drafted since 2014. Head coach Bill Belichick believes in Stidham since the team has decided to pass on all other options in free agency. Veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer is expected to be the second string option out of camp.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham appears to have the inside track on the starting job despite the signing of veteran Brian Hoyer. This all comes after Tom Brady chose to leave New England in free agency for Tampa Bay. The Patriots like Stidham, but they know he's an unknown commodity until he sees live action under center. The 23-year-old should compete with Hoyer in training camp, but it'll be Stidham's job to lose this summer. A fourth-round pick last year out of Auburn, he attempted only four passes in parts of three games in his rookie season. The Patriots don't seem interested in Andy Dalton or Cam Newton, so they may choose to sink or swim with Stidham in 2020. He won't be worth drafting except for in dynasty/keeper formats.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham completed 18-of-28 passes for 228 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the team's final preseason game. The rookie took all of the snaps in the Patriots final tune-up before the regular season begins. Stidham has done well by himself this preseason, finishing the exhibition portion of the season 61-of-90 (67.8%) for 731 yards, four touchdowns and only one interception. Stidham completed an excellent pass to veteran Demaryius Thomas for a 35-yard score and again looked poised in the pocket. Stidham has a long way to go before he becomes the future of the Patriots franchise and should begin the season as the team's third-string quarterback.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham saw extended playing time in the team's third preseason game against the Panthers. The Patriots chose to sit incumbent backup Brian Hoyer and gave the reins to the rookie after Tom Brady played the first few series. Stidham played well again, completing 15-of-19 passes for 134 yards. He did not guide the team into the end zone, however, after tossing a go-ahead touchdown last week. The rookie is as raw as they come right now and is expected to start the season as the Patriots third-string quarterback.
New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham completed 14-of-19 passes for 193 yards, including a game-winning touchdown, in the Patriots 22-17 preseason win over the Titans. Stidham hit wide receiver Damoun Patterson down the left sideline for 23 yards to put the Patriots ahead for the first time in the game. It was an efficient performance for the fourth-round rookie, who is looking at starting the season as the third-string quarterback. It is impossible to say whether Stidham is the "future" at quarterback for the Patriots but should see plenty of snaps in the final two preseason games.

Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
