EPL Betting Odds Report

**All Odds from BetMGM**

West Ham United (+155) vs. Leicester City (+170), O/U 2.5

DraftKings & FanDuel EPL DFS Picks Today

West Ham United hosts Leicester City. West Ham comes in with an impressive come-from-behind victory over Newcastle 4-2. Leicester City kept a clean sheet at home as it squeezed by Wolverhampton 1-0. West Ham struggles to keep clean sheets at home, allowing a total expected goal difference of -1.5. They have no shortage of offensive weapons and still produced a +10 actual goals scored difference a season ago, ranking fifth best in the EPL. Leicester City allowed an expected goals on the road of 1.12 per match a season ago but made up on the offensive side with 1.42 expected for. Their actual goal differential on the road ranked fourth best in EPL a season ago.

In their previous three meetings, West Ham has taken two matches and ran over the Leicester defense posting three goals in each. Leicester City has been in good form offensively, being shut out just once in the last 16 matches. West Ham has been shut out three times in their previous 16 matches and posted three-plus goals in six different matches during that stretch. Both teams have to-score prop betting odds sitting at -145 (BetMGM), which still offers good value. The better play given the teams’ run and offensive weapons is the OVER 2.5 total goals sitting at -115 (BetMGM).

Top Captain Plays

Aaron Cresswell (DraftKings: $10,500, FanDuel: $10)

Aaron Cresswell handles the indirect set shares for West Ham. He comes in with an average 4.88 crosses per match. The departure of Jesse Lingard has allowed an uptick in the corner volume for Cresswell. His presence on both sides of the pitch allows him to produce form a DFS standpoint with defensive metrics, with an additional average of 1.90 won tackles and interceptions. On DraftKings, he provides a solid floor and salary relief to attack both club’s offensive weapons for a spread-scoring approach. The attack of Michail Antonio, Said Benrahma and Jamie Vardy are all goal-hunting considerations in a match we expect a lot of offensive opportunities. The asking price on each would inhibit you from using them in the flex, while Cresswell’s presence allows them all in the flex.

Youri Tielemans (DraftKings: $10,800, FanDuel: $8)

Vardy leads the away side in overall scoring. He is, without a doubt, a GPP option in stacks favoring Leicester. Going on the salary-relief theme, Youri Tielemans would be one of my top captain options. Like Cresswell, Tielemans handles a share of indirect sets and has the defensive metrics to build a floor. They are not in the category of a pure-punt captain, such as a Ayoze Perez or Pablo Fornals. Tielemans averages 3.81 crosses per match with 3.03 won tackles and interceptions. The crossing set shares lead to created chances, and he does take chances at the net with 1.26 shots per match.

Other Options: Michail Antonio (DraftKings $15,600, FanDuel $14), Jamie Vardy (DraftKings $14,100, FanDuel $15), Said Benrahma (DraftKings $14,700, FanDuel $11).

Top Flex Plays

Jarrod Bowen (DraftKings: $9,200, FanDuel: $12)

West Ham comes in as a slight favorite and has the home crowd behind it. The team will have confidence off its previous two victories over Leicester City. On the other side of the pitch, Jarrod Bowen handles the indirect sets. He is often lost in the shuffle of West Ham but contributes on offense with an average 1.93 shots and 3.78 crosses per match. He trails Cresswell in chances created for the home side at 2.74 per match a season ago. Bowen contributed on 21% of West Ham’s overall scoring a season ago, and his even split of goals and assists offers upside and a stacking pair to Antonio or Benrahma.

Luke Thomas (DraftKings: $5,400, FanDuel: $7)

Luke Thomas has done well to get involved on both the offensive and defensive sides. He averages 1.3 shots per match and 3.61 won tackles and interceptions in his limited runs in the past. If Timothy Castagne returns for this match, he is the preferred option. Ricardo Pereira and Thomas are on the wins, and Thomas takes preference as a leverage play given recent bias that would attract ownership to Pereira.

Other Options: James Maddison (DraftKings $6,800, FanDuel $10), Harvey Barnes (DraftKings $7,600, FanDuel $9)
