EPL DFS & Fantasy Soccer Picks Today | DraftKings & FanDuel

**All Odds from BetMGM**

Brighton (+350) vs. Chelsea (-130), O/U 2.5

Mason Mount (DraftKings: $17,100, FanDuel $15)

Kai Havertz (DraftKings: $10,200, FanDuel $10)

Brighton hosts Chelsea on the only game left due to a postponement on the slate. Brighton is a well-balanced side at home, allowing 1.22 expected goals per match and one actual goal. They have a tough task against a Chelsea side that sports the third-most road goals in the EPL and 1.55 expected goals per match. Brighton will have trouble finding chances offensively against a Chelsea defense that allows 0.93 expected goals on the road, third best in the EPL. Brighton has failed to keep a clean sheet in four straight matches but did draw this same Chelsea side a few weeks back 1-1. In that outing Brighton saw a slight edge in time of possession and matched the shot volume of the reigning Champions League champions.

Coming off a loss to Manchester City, Chelsea will need to come away with 3 points, as Arsenal and West Ham United are chasing them down for a Champions League spot. Mason Mount is the indirect set piece man for Chelsea and comes in with the highest salary. He leads the club in goal contribution with 27.2%. He builds a floor with 2.71 shots and 6.36 crosses per match. Mount leads the team in scoring chances created and has the scoring upside. He is the clear core play at the Captain spot in what looks to be a low-scoring affair.

Kai Havertz is the goal-hunting threat up top. He is not shy to take his chances, with 2.6 shots per match. He is a GPP play due to the sub-40% on-target accuracy and the difficult matchup against a Brighton side that held Chelsea to 1.1 expected goals in their previous two meetings. Havertz allows for salary relief to fit the set piece takers from both sides of the pitch and roster the open play metrics of teammates Marcos Alonso and PK duties of Jorginho. Should Romelu Lukaku see the starting 11, he would take priority over Havertz, but comes with a higher salary.

Other Options: Christian Pulisic (DraftKings: $9,300, FanDuel: $12)

Alexis Mac Allister (DraftKings: $10,600, FanDuel: $9)

Alexis Mac Allister has sparked the offense for Brighton in his recent matches. He has done well on indirect set shares and shot volume, with 2.33 shots and six crosses per match. His salary is hard to get to, but he has proven consistent against any opponent when given the minutes. The only concern is if Pascal Gross sees the starting 11. Gross allows Brighton to spread the attack from both sides of the pitch and the split in time of possession will limit Mac Allister’s chances to reach those recent metrics that has escalated the price tag. Should Gross see the pitch, take the discount as a one-off in a Chelsea-favored stack. For a balanced approach for cash, both set piece takers would fit a 4-3 Chelsea stack, with Gross handling the PK. It is important to note that Gross did miss a PK in his previous outing, so it is unclear if Maupay would get a crack at it in this matchup. Gross is still the preferred option because his floor build on crossing volume and created chances.

Kepa Arrizabalaga (DraftKings: $6,600)

Kepa Arrizabalaga should draw the start for Chelsea once again. He has failed to earn a win in his previous outing. That was a road match against the EPL top ranked Manchester City. He did well in that matchup to keep Chelsea in the fight with five saves. Chelsea has an easier offense to deal with in his second start. Chelsea rank in the top tier of the EPL with a clean sheet percentage of 40%. They trail only Wolverhampton in save percentage, at 81% which is a tribute to the outside shooting the defenders allow for comfortable saves. The goalkeeper is always the most volatile spot, with a conceded goal destroying the value especially at the price.

Marcos Alonso (DraftKings: $8,400, FanDuel: $10)

Timo Werner (DraftKings: $7,400, FanDuel: $9)

Brighton come into this match with key defenders out in Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk. That is a big void in the center of the back line which Chelsea will look to avoid. Marcos Alonso pushes up the wing and builds a floor with 5.03 crosses via an even split through sets and open play. He creates 3.15 scoring chances per match which trails only Mount on the club’s leaderboard. He makes a combo play with Arrizabalaga for a clean sheet bonus, which is the only reason you would consider Arrizabalaga. The addition of Antonio Rudiger provides a discount price and an attacker on the corner sets with the absence of the tall defenders for Brighton.

Timo Werner is a goal-hunting option much like Havertz and Pulisic. Werner averages 3.02 shots per match and will make all of his rare start. This match does not look like a firework show, so consider one of Havertz, Pulisic or Werner for goal hunting. The floor of Mount and Alonso will draw ownership and for good reason. The discounted price and 1.29 shots per match will garner ownership for Rudiger with a clean sheet bonus chase. In SE and cash it makes sense to go with one of the goal hunters. In MME, you have the luxury of running combos of one to two of the three. Playing all three would require Chelsea to post three against Brighton without multiple contributions in any score from either one of them or Mount. On FanDuel you can onslaught the Chelsea attack with a discounted price on Adam Webster of $5 and the increased responsibility of clearing out the aerial deliveries from Chelsea.

Other Options: Leandro Trossard (DraftKings: $7,200, FanDuel: $11), Marc Cucurella (DraftKings: $6,400, FanDuel: $6), Joel Veltman (DraftKings: $5,200, FanDuel: $5).
