EPL DFS Picks DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Nov. 21

These are listed in order of what I believe are the top plays, including median projection, floor and upside.

EPL DFS Picks: Forward/Midfield

Ross Barkley (DraftKings $7,400 FanDuel $15)

Ollie Watkins (DraftKings $7,800 FanDuel $18)

Aston Villa gets a tough home matchup against a Brighton side that sits first overall in the EPL in expected goals against. Brighton is better at home, allowing 1.5 expected goals more on the road. With attention likely on Manchester City and Manchester United, this is great pivot spot to the Villa attack. Ross Barkley has taken control of the corner sets for Villa and averages 3.4 shots per start to complement the 5.4 crosses and 5.8 scoring chances created.

Ollie Watkins has been a revolution for the club at the true nine position, with six goals in seven starts and brace upside. He averages 2.57 shots per game with a 44.4% on-target accuracy clip. His output drops dramatically without goals, but the supporting cast of Jack Grealish, John McGinn and Trezeguet should feed him plenty of chances to find the back of the net. I also like Trezeguet at a sub-$5,000 price tag in this slate for scoring upside and salary relief.

Bruno Fernandez (DraftKings $11,000 FanDuel $22)

Son Heung-Min (DraftKings $8,300 FanDuel $19)

Manchester United stays at Old Trafford and welcomes a West Brom squad that is abysmal on the road. West Brom allows 6.7 expected goals, ranking them third worst in the EPL. West Brom averages 11.37 fouls committed per game, which is mid tier and helps solidify the floor for Bruno Fernandez. Fernandez controls the sets and penalties for Manchester United, with 6 crosses per game and 2.57 won tackles and interceptions. He contributed on 72% of the club’s overall scoring and averages 5.71 shots and assisted shots per game.

The Tottenham set piece man, Son Heung-Min, sees a tough home matchup against Manchester City. He still comes in at a value price with a solid floor and tied atop the EPL in overall scoring. The City defense is the fourth best in expected goals against in the EPL, but Son can produce without scoring. He averages 4.5 shots/assisted shots and 4.12 crosses per game, and is contributing on 52% of the club’s overall scoring. Tottenham currently is second in the EPL with 15 expected goals.

Kevin De Bruyne (DraftKings $10,600 FanDuel $22)

Gabriel Jesus (DraftKings $7,700 FanDuel $21)

Manchester City are a more explosive offense with Gabriel Jesus in the lineup. He is averaging a goal and 2.5 shots per game. He needs a goal to produce, but it is rare to get him at sub $8,000. With Raheem Sterling’s status up in the air, Jesus could see increased volume up front. If Sterling is in, I also find him too cheap at under $7,000.

The constant for Manchester City is the captain Kevin De Bruyne. He controls the set pieces and penalties, and the offense flows through him. If you cannot fit both him and Fernandez in a lineup, I lean Fernandez because of his matchup. De Bruyne is matchup-proof and always shows up in big games, taking on a Tottenham squad that allows a full expected goal more at home than on the road. He averages six crosses and 4.83 shots/assisted shots per game, and his upside comes in goal contribution.

Other Options: Phil Foden (DraftKings $6,700, FanDuel $14), Edinson Cavani (DraftKings $8,200, FanDuel $17), Anthony Martial (DraftKings $7,300, FanDuel $17), Harry Kane (DraftKings $9,300, FanDuel $20), Jack Grealish (DraftKings $8,800, FanDuel $17), Pascal Gross (DraftKings $7,500, FanDuel $8), Karlan Grant (DraftKings $4,900, FanDuel $13), Matheus Pereira (DraftKings $6,800, FanDuel $16).

EPL DFS Picks: Defender

Sergio Reguilon (DraftKings $5,100 FanDuel $12)

Darnell Furlong (DraftKings $4,800 FanDuel $12)

There looks to be soft pricing for the defender spot on this slate. Plenty of value is available around $5,000, and I will likely be off Alex Telles. Sergio Reguilon is active, pushing up behind Son for Tottenham. He averages 3.25 open-play crosses and 3.25 shots and assisted shots per game. The matchup is not ideal, but the defensive involvement he also posses (two won tackles/interceptions per game) can increase output on the City counters.

Darnell Furlong is consistent in his offensive involvement and does not need West Brom to score to be affective. He averages four open-play crosses, 1.71 drawn fouls and 2.28 won tackles/interceptions per game. With Manchester United having question marks all over the front line, Furlong could get a favorable opponent, making it more favorable to push up the wing to increase volume on an already solid floor.

Other Options: Ben Davies (DraftKings $3,400, FanDuel $7), Matt Target (DraftKings $4,000, FanDuel $9), Matthew Cash (DraftKings $4,500, FanDuel $14), Kyle Walker (DraftKings $4,400, FanDuel $13).

Goalkeeper

Emiliano Martinez (DraftKings $5,000 FanDuel $12)

David De Gea (DraftKings $5,900 FanDuel $14)
