WNBA DFS degenerate Seth Stinehour returns with his picks for the weekend slate. Want Awesemo’s rankings too? Sign up HERE.
We have a three game WNBA DFS slate featuring some of the dregs of the league. A couple things jump out at me on this slate. The first, is pricing is really soft; you should be able to make a strong lineup without too much issue. The other major aspect is there are some recency bias spots I think we can take advantage of. Just remember with the loose pricing it makes the value plays less necessary.
Courtney VanderSloot, Diamond DeShields
Both of these guards have the nut matchup and for change might be the top plays on the slate. I prefer VanderSloot on DraftKings for the Triple and double double upside. DeShields is a strong play as well. I think not a lot of people will play them together and I think that is an option on this slate.
This is the first time I have recommended her all year. Indiana is an awful defensive team and just the type of team Quigley can get her shot off against. The minutes are there and this is a great spot for her.
Stefanie Dolson, Janteal Lavender
Bigs against Indiana are money. Dolson is way too cheap on FanDuel. I love the idea of pivoting to Lavender. People may be scared off by last game, but they shouldn’t be because she was in foul trouble. Consider a Dolson fade on FanDuel, where here ownership could climb to as high as 50%.
The price on FanDuel is way too cheap for a forward playing Chicago. I would just lock her there. She is in play on DraftKings at an elevated price tag as well.
Here is the deal. She is expensive but we have the salary and it’s a great matchup. If you have the salary play her. I like her better than Charles, but not as much as Nneka.
Tiffany Mitchell, Kelsey Mitchell
These two have clearly separated from Wheeler with the minutes and I love them both here in this matchup. You can even play them together.
Alicia Gray, Ogwunale, Kaela Davis
Ogwunale missed the last game and Gray and Davis carried the day. I don’t like any of the three here; Atlanta is starting to show signs of life. I think they come out with a strong defensive effort.
Who the hell knows. Isabelle Harrison started last game and was awful. Kayla Thorton set a new career high. The coach hates Azura Stevens. Honestly, if I was going to play anyone it’s Pleasance. If Thorton is 30% owned after last game consider that the rake.
Tiffany Hayes, Renee Montgomery
Their prices on FanDuel are absurd for this matchup. Dallas is a bottom five defensive team and the minutes are there. I prefer Hayes on DraftKings. Also, Brittany Sykes is a strong play.
May be my favorite play on the slate. I hope people are scared off. This is a matchup she can easily destroy.
Elizabeth Williams, Nia Coffey
I just love Atlanta here. I will probably have two of Atlanta in every lineup I make.
Kia Nurse, Asia Durr, Tanisha Wright
As I write this the Liberty are getting destroyed by Vegas. Pay no attention to last night’s minutes. I like Nurse still on FanDuel, but the prices are too high on DraftKings.
Zahuii is laying a major egg tonight. I hope people are off of her tomorrow I would load up.
This is a DraftKings specific play, she is $3,900 over there and played twenty one minutes last night. The Liberty are a juicy matchup and would also be in line for blow out run.
Nneka and Chiney
I see this game as a smash spot for Nneka with her under performing tonight.
She is older coming off a back to back. Granted she will only play twenty minutes tonight but I like the spot in a GPP. One thing I want to emphasize is disregard the Liberty minutes from last night.
Cash Core: Achowa (FD) Hayes Monty(FD) Mitchells, Vandersloot or DeShields, Nneka Kalani Brown (DK) Dolson (FD)
One note: I think on DraftKings this is a play a guard in the utility kind of night. As of right now my plan is completely fade Dallas as well.
GPP plays: Zahui, Nurse, Bentley, Breland, Monty, Dupree, Lavender
