The NBA DFS Big Board is a one-stop shop for building lineups. It gives each player on the slate a Points Rating, Value Rating and Leverage Rating on a scale from 1 to 100, which allows you to easily decipher some of the top options on the slate. There are 11 games tonight so let us dive into some of the NBA daily fantasy rankings using the Big Board and Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections.

NBA Daily Fantasy Rankings & Big Board Projections

Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves

DraftKings Points Rating: 96 | FanDuel Points Rating: 95

The first glance of the Wednesday slate reveals it is going to be extremely chalky, especially if the Heat are still without Jimmy Butler. To sit on top of the GPP leaderboard, it is going to require some type of difference-maker, and Towns is one of just four players with a point rating of 95 or higher tonight. He is involved in the game that carries the highest total of the day and both teams ranking in the top 10 in pace adds to that appeal.

Even with the duo of Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell alongside him, Towns still has a 25.6% usage and leads Minnesota ins fantasy points per minute at 1.28. The Kings are 19th in rebounds on the year, and Towns is at nearly 18 rebounding chances per night. He will defend Richaun Holmes most of the night, and Holmes is in the top 10 in paint touches so Towns will be near the rim a lot on the defensive end. On the offensive end, Holmes could struggle dealing with the multi-faceted attack from Towns since he can hit 3-point shots and does not just sit in the paint. Towns can be one of the highest-scoring players on this slate.

Jalen Brunson, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks

DraftKings Value Rating: 100 | FanDuel Value Rating: 98

Part of the chalk that feels very unavoidable tonight is Brunson and his teammate Kristaps Porzingis, who is discussed more in-depth in the Wednesday Slate Starter. For Brunson, his value rating is spiked near the top as is his boom potential and odds of being in the optimal lineup. Simply put, his salary is not nearly what it should be for his role without Luka Doncic. Brunson leads the team in minutes without Doncic and has a 27.6% usage rate and 1.23 fantasy points per minute. His minutes should be well over 30 since he averages 29 when Doncic is active.

Doncic is in the top 10 in points in both isolation and as the pick-and-roll ball handler. While Phoenix has defended isolation well, the same cannot be said for the pick-and-roll game, as they are in the bottom five in points per possession. Brunson and Porzingis should make a strong pick-and-roll combo tonight and Brunson is not someone to avoid.

With Doncic out, Brunson and Porzingis are popping up all over the projections and value models, and your ol’ pal EMac has even more of a deep dive on why Brunson and Porzingis need to be considered in his NBA DFS Building Blocks article for tonight’s slate.

Latest NBA DFS Content

Deandre Ayton, C, Phoenix Suns

DraftKings Points Rating: 81 | FanDuel Points Rating: 81

Playing Ayton depends on the site because the salary on DraftKings is an incredible value while the FanDuel salary is more competitive. There is no concern about the injury that held him out of action for a few games because he played 32 minutes in the past game. That is always a strong sign when a player returns, and the matchup is excellent for a player that has 1.15 fantasy points per minute.

Dallas is in the bottom five in points allowed in the paint, while Ayton is second in paint touches, first in points scored in the paint and has over 18 rebounding chances per night. To further explain his appeal, Ayton leads the league in scoring as the roll man in the pick-and-roll. Dallas is in the bottom six in points per possession and raw points defending the roll man. Ayton is in the top eight in boom percentage in the Awesemo NBA Boom/Bust Tool, along with being in the top 15 in value rating on DraftKings.

Ayton is one of the best value plays, according to Zach Brunner, and he wrote further about Ayton’s outlook in his NBA Daily Fantasy Picks Based on Awesemo Grades & Values article.
